His clients are primarily the super wealthy. This brings up a conundrum for him. On the one hand they want a home that is in great excess of what is needed and as such consumes a disproportionate amount of resources. But on the other hand, each project provides work for hundreds of crafts people, keeping the economy humming.
Some of us Bumwads might have been asking, why doesn't he retire like the rest of us? It becomes evident upon touring one of his homes with him that he loves what he does. His entire experience as an architect up to this point has prepared him for the next design challenge, which is an exciting prospect for him. One observation upon doing a walk through with him is that he is essentially a Dream Maker... making dreams come true better than the client could imagine or describe. That's worth continuing as long as he has the energy.
Pictured below are a variety of photos from the AIA Showcase tour of one of his latest homes on Lake Minnetonka, September 27&28, 2025. Pictures don't quite do it justice... it is crazy cool in person!
