2022 Golf for Fun
A handful of Wads played periodic golf this summer to hone their fading skills, relish the occasional good/great shot, enjoy the camaraderie, and take in the scenery of the beautiful courses!

October 3rd @ Hiawatha These three Wads shot two birdies, eight pars, and eight bogies for six over par. Pretty good. Could have been even better with a few more great shots at the right time... like their 50 foot chip shot into the cup. If they could only do that more often! Maybe next year? Maybe one more try this year? |

September 15 (1 of 2 pictures) @ U of M Course Today was a beautiful team effort in which each of the three golfers took turns being good at just the right time so that they could turn in 13 Pars, 2 Birdies, and 3 Bogies. They didn't cheat too much...just a few mulligans for each player.

September 15 (2 of 2 Pictures) @ U of M Course What a way to end the day. On #18 all three golfers had fairway shots that landed "bing bang boom" on the right side of the green. Look at the flag, it was straight out, so that the wind pushed their shots to the right. From here they had the preverbal "chip and a putt" to get another par. |

August 25 (1 of 2 pictures) @ Baker National Each of the five Wads was randomly good at the right time so that as a team they had five birdies. Since they also had two bogies, they ended a very beautiful day for golf at three under. The author failed to mention RR Wad's great birdie on his own earlier in the season, so will now highlight his chipping into the cup on #11 as a highlight for today's round. Let's hope he can keep doing randomly great shots more often! |

August 25 (2 of 2 pictures) @ Baker National The holes were challenging but beautiful. |

August 4 @ Gross Perfect weather day for 5 golfing Wads to shoot 5 under! Two guys each got their own birdie, but the other 16 holes were a team effort. Probably our lowest score to date, although a skeptic would say that a fivesome should shoot better than a foursome or a threesome. Whatever, it was a feel good day! |
 |
July 21 @ Brookview This group of Wads split into two teams, one with three players and the other with two players. The A team of three had: a birdie, almost an eagle via a great chip shot, and numerous other great and not so great shots to end the round a few shots over par. The B team of two says they scored even better than the A team, coming in below par... a great score on a gorgeous July day. |
 |
July 7 (1 of 2 pictures) @ Meadowbrook - First Nine This threesome started out very hot, two under after seven, gave up a stroke on the eighth to finish the first nine one under par. A couple of highlights to note: M Wad sunk a 40 foot putt and got a birdie by himself on a 152 yard par three. |
 |
July 7 (2 of 2 pictures) @ Meadowbrook - Second Nine The team was feeling pumped at the turn and decided to have hotdogs and beer. This isn't a scientific study; however, by observation, their previous high performance dropped off after the beer. Consequently they added four strokes to end the full round three over par. They know they can do better...wait till next time! |

June 23 (1 of 2 pictures) @ Pioneer Creek This threesome of wild and crazy guys played the first round of 2022 Bumwad golf. As you can see, the teams are getting smaller each year. It was a beautiful day for golfing. As usual M Wad was quite good and very consistent. Grant Wad and D Wad struggled to find their golf mojo, but had occasional good/great shots. One great shot came at the end of the round on the 17th tee box. D Wad's drive on the 167 yard par-3 hit the base of the pin on the fly! Unfortunately it bounced off the pin and not into the cup. One of those golf miracles that happens once in person's lifetime!

June 23 (2 of 2 pictures) @ Pioneer Creek Here M Wad is looking for a ball that left the tee box with high hopes but that landed in some pretty thick rough. He was doing this scavenger hunt for D Wad's errant shot. M Wad must have eagle eyes because miraculously he found the ball!! What are the chances?? |
